Carl has often been described as the glue that held the Beach Boys together. I think that describes him very well. When everything else was falling apart, when his brothers were dealing with their own personal problems to deal with, Carl was there to keep everything together. He was born in 1946 in Hawthorne, California, as the younger brother of Brian and Dennis. Carl, along with his two brothers, his cousin and his brother’s friend founded the Beach Boys in 1961. Not only did he have a voice that possessed a sweetness that could give you chills, but he was also a very warm person who cared deeply for music and the Beach Boys. Unfortunately, the world lost Carl to lung-cancer in 1998, when he was just 51 years old.
